Solitude

I’m sure by chance some of you have been caught in this situation:

You are staying alone and completely isolated. There are no friends around you and you have no one to talk to for the whole day.

Well I’m the fortunate one to be experiencing this right now. :P

Yes, it had been a complete 2 months since I updated my blog and the dust is thickening. Time to wipe away the dust and start anew, this time with a change of template!!

My new blog template features an urban blue jeans’ texture and 3 column layout, which I think is easier to manage. Personally I like it very much..( ^_^).. . The transition process is a smooth one, as experience had taught me not to lose any blog links by saving them beforehand, otherwise it will be a big hassle looking for them!

To update, final examinations for undergraduate had finished this week and everyone can’t wait to go home!

To make it short, friends began to leave one by one, and the student population in UTP decreased drastically, as can be observed happening in V1 hostel. This early morning, my four remaining Sarawakian friends embark on their journey home, leaving me to wake up in a surreal atmosphere of total calmness and silence. It was a stark change of reality to digest at first because the remnants of last night’s fun and laugher still remain in my head for some time.

Getting past the loneliness blues, the rest of the day was pretty normal and I spent most of my time in front of laptop. There’s an infinite things you can do when you have a decent internet connection so I ain’t tat bored.

The only issue is access to food. The management only limit one cafeteria in the whole UTP to be open when approaching the holiday so you have to take the trouble to go there, no matter how far and inconvenient it is. Everyone is forced to eat there so if you are late you are in for a hell of waiting. Not that I don’t have the time, I just hate waiting.

In my case, I was pretty lucky. V2 cafe which is designated to be open is near to my hostel. I went for dinner early today to avoid the crowd and had waited less than 5 minute for my oyster sauce chicken rice to arrive! That’s an unbelievable record seeing that I had blacklisted v2 cafe twice: the first for making me wait for almost an hour, the second for forgetting my order. After both incidents, I had never eat in v2 cafe for a long long time until now. :)

Feeling lazy to walk? There’s always instant noodles to the rescue! Being last to go back home does has an advantage. The last person gets to hoard any remaining food that you friends have but can’t possibly or lazy to bring back, especially packets of Maggi! XD

Well, I have enough Maggi packets to last me for these few days, although that’s not a good idea unless I want to suffer extreme hair loss from MSG overdose, so in the end going to v2 is still a must to alternate between my choices of meals. =.=

That describes pretty much of everything for now. Luckily this period of solitude doesn’t take place in a jungle and I’m not in some sort of horrible camp! I still had my warm bed, a roof over my head, a sturdy door to keep me safe, plenty of food, and fast internet access so I’m enjoying life as it should be. Cheers!! :)

Happy holidays!!
