A tagger named Steward

I just got tagged!! Actually, this tag had been there a long while ago but I had to put it off due to time-constraint. Luckily I had all the time in the world to update my blog during this holiday. So here goes: The tagger is Steward, a great UTP friend of mine, and apparently I had to answer a few questions regarding the tagger below:

So let’s start with No 1,

1. What is the relationship of you and her/him?

We are friends. I must say this friendship is quite new as I only know him this year.

Ironically, we are both from Sarawak, both from Bintulu, I studied in SMK Kiduring and Steward in SMK Bandar, yet we never met each other. Oh well, Bintulu is such a big place so I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised.

But anyway, it’s great that destiny brought us to meet each other. It’s interesting actually. Because I first met him in Edu Camp in Kuching, yet we never talked to each other! It’s only when we are selected into UTP and stayed at the same village that I get to know him during MAS.

2. Your five impressions towards him/her?

Don’t take into heart what I’m going to say. This is only from my own perspective. You know yourself better than anyone else. :)

Let’s see..You are a sentimental guy, sometimes a bit emotional, have a big heart that empathize, caring, trustworthy person, helpful (especially in Math), a fanatic blogger and facebooker, always have a smart, professional and nonchalant look, a bit sarcastic at times, don’t like to go for sports but know taekwondo XD

Oops, I exceeded the five impressions limit but who cares? My tag, my rules. hehe

3. The most memorable thing that he/she has done for you?

Celebrating my birthday with me..

4. The most memorable thing that he/she has said to you?

“You are nice, but sometimes too nice.” He said to me last sem, but I’d never heard it again this sem…Have I in any way changed? (to become a not-too-nice-person)

5. If he/she becomes your lover....

Hmm, imagine that happen. No no no, it definitely won’t because we are not gay! We are friends, not gay friends, get it? We are FRIEDNS that are not GAY..

6. If he/she becomes your enemy.....

I certainly hope this will never happen. If it does happen, it must be due to some silly misunderstanding and I hope we can forgive and forget. Not forget each other! I mean forget each other’s mistake. I apologise if I had in any way hurt your feelings. ^_^ Please correct me and tell me if you find my behaviour or certain actions disapproving. Otherwise, I might carry on doing it without realising my mistakes which eventually makes you hate me. Friends should be honest with each other right?

7. If he/she becomes your lover, he has to improve on.......

Like I say, we are not GAY!! But if you insist…ok. Firstly, he has to undergo an operation to change sex. Then, we’ll see…

8. If she/he become your enemy, the reason is.....

Maybe I had done something that really offended him without me realising it. If that happened, I hope he’ll be honest and tell me. Don’t keep things bottled up inside. I’m a good person too. Never in my life will I intentionally want to hurt a good friend’s feeling.

9. The most desirable thing to do on him/her is?

Do ON him? That sounds so errm..explicit. Anyway, there’s nothing I want to do on him. Maybe I’ll just give him a friendly punch and a pat on the back. ^_^

10. The overall impression of her/him is.....

A great person and I am fortunate to know him.

11. How do you think the people around you feel about you?

They say I’m too nice, rarely argue or fight. Not really grown up, sometimes too quiet and shy. Hmm..I don’t have a complete answer on how they really feel about me. Ask them!

12. The character of you for yourself is?

I will try to be there when a friend is in need. Other’s people happiness are sometime more important than mine. I love helping people in any way I can. That doesn’t mean I agree to become anyone’s servant! I seldom get angry, have a high tolerance, and dislike arguing with people and prefer to stay away from trouble.

13. What do you hate about yourself?

I’m too naïve and immature. The world of reality out there is a cruel and merciless. Sometimes, you need to fight and argue when the situation demands it to prevent people from taking advantages on you. Conflicts are inevitable. The world is not a perfect place where everyone is happy and live in peace. I should step out of my self-presumed blissful world and see the world as it really is. I need to bulk up and be independent.

14. The most ideal person that you want to be is......

My dad. He is the perfect role model of a successful person, be it in work or family.

15. For the people who care about you and like you, say something to them.

I love and care for you all from the bottom of my heart. I thank you all for helping me and guiding me through life. Life will be dark and lonely without you all to brighten up my day. May God bless you all.

1o persons to tag:

It’s time to pass the ball to someone else. No pressure guys. Take your time to do the tag when you are most free.

Who is no.2 having a relationship with?

There are many rumours circulating around UTP that he likes”_____”. I am not sure actually. As I said, there are just rumours. XD

No.3 a male or a female?
A male, a sexy male. Hehe

If no.7 and no.10 were together, would it be a good thing?

They don’t know each other and they are totally from different backgrounds with different interests. But we’ll never know. I’ll leave it to destiny to bring them together.

How about no.5 and 8?
Same case as the previous question.

What is no.1 studying about?
Chemical engineering in UTP.

Is no.4 single?

Hmm.. hard to say. Maybe yes maybe no..

Say something about no.6

A big friendly guy who can be accidentally destructive at times but kind and never resort to violence. Always make people laugh and brightens up the atmosphere.

That’s about it. HAPPY TAGGINGS!!

A family trip in Cameron Highlands

Part 1

Continued from the last post, after much anticipation, my family arrived and I was at last whisked away from UTP. Farewell UTP, we shall meet again in one week time.

I can’t describe how great the feeling was to see everyone again. Dad haven’t in any way changed, mom cut her hair short, my sister have bracers, my brother still so-so, my youngest sister was naughtier than ever. We had lunch in Tronoh, then it’s time for one big HAPPY family on a car trip to Cameron Highlands.

Well, I’m not that HAPPY. The trip consists of nightmarish, never ending twisting, turning, and winding roads that go uphill and downhill. I slept mostly during the trip, maybe out of dizziness. We drove through Kampung Raja and eventually reached the summit in Brinchang. Despite the afternoon sun, the weather was cool and with light breezes in the air. We stopped by a tea plantation for a rest. There’s lot of lush green “tea bushes” (is that how it’s called?) that form a huge maze on the entire terrain. I had fun tinkering with the new camera that my parents bought.

Just got down from the car after a dizzying ride. Can't blame me looking like this

A tea house. Looks like half of it is "sunken" into the hills

Next, we went to a bee farm. Nothing “exciting” happened here (I’m certainly not taking a risk!). Bees are buzzing around busily collecting honey for their hive, which is a honey box that can be harvested after a period of time for the honey. It was a peaceful afternoon surrounded by nature and docile bees. We bought some honey-made products before leaving. I can’t wait to spread the nice, thick gooey honey on a slice of bread and savoured every drop of it! I’m all in for sweet things. ^_^

In the bee farm...

Rows and rows of honey boxes

After that, we check in to our apartment. In a good way, it saves electricity because there’s no need for fan or air-conditioning. The room was cold enough! Stepping on the marble tiles feels like standing on ice with the warmth seeping away from the feet. Besides that, everything was perfect here. We have nice and spacious rooms and with great sceneries. Too bad there’s no internet coverage here, so I’m writing this blog on a Microsoft word spreadsheet. XD Anyway, I spent the rest of my afternoon sleeping. Glad to know all my friends leaving this morning arrived safely at their homes.

No network coverage. Bored..so practising my O2Jam :)

The view outside..

My little sister and her strawberry craze ^_^

Night came. It rained a little while. The temperature dropped and it was many times colder than in the afternoon. Luckily, we are having dinner at Chinese café. I ordered black pepper chicken rice and a cup of hot Chinese tea to warm me up. After that, we went to the night market. I was busy and crowded, especially when today is a weekend. Hawkers selling their products, negotiations and bargaining are going on, the atmosphere was lively. I bought some dried strawberries and plan to “ta bau” some home. Everyone else bought something too. Then we bought some supper and head back to our apartment.

That's all for tonight. TO BE CONTINUED….

Part 2

Morning- it was ten times colder than night. I was freezing up again after stepping out of a warm shower. We packed our stuff and check out of the apartment.

We went to visit BOH Tea Plantation. The trip there was not easy. We had to drive uphill on a narrow and curvy road with many sharp corners. No road mirrors so we had to horn all the way up to warn others about our presence. Larger vehicles such as buses and lorry couldn’t possibly drive this kind of road. We arrived finally. The place was many times bigger than the tea plantation we first visited. We have a chance to climb up a hill full of tea bushes. I wonder how they manage to collect all these tea leaves on such sloppy terrains.

It was a long way up to the summit, no doubt tiring but the experience is exhilarating. The wind blowing against you, looking down at the world below, shrouded in wisps of misty clouds…

After the tiring hike, we went to the tea house and enjoyed some delicious vanilla-flavoured tea and munched on some sandwiches. Then we bought some packets of BOH tea to bring home. Of course, it was an irony that we came all the way up here just to buy some packets of tea that can be bought in the supermarket. But again, the fun, experience, and enjoyment are priceless.

After that, we visited the tea factory heavily scented with crushed tea-leaves. There are many gigantic and complex machines in the factory but to summarise things the process involves crushing and grinding the tea-leaves into fine powder, drying and heating them, then processing and packaging them.

Some nice views before reaching the tea plantation

Flowers...

Conquering the hills..It's a long way up.. and a long way down.. (if you turn your head and look down)

Next, we visited Cactus Valley. I never saw so many cactuses in my lives! They are my favourite plants. Eye-catching cactuses of all shape, sizes and colour and species, no matter how weird, can be found. I had a great time looking at all of them ^_^

Next, we visited a strawberry farm. Besides strawberries, there are many fresh fruits and vegetables grown in large scale. We had fun hand-picking our own strawberries and eating them fresh. Strawberry is such a commodity here. Any products can be made from strawberries. Strawberry ice-cream, strawberry pie, strawberry salad, strawberry milkshake, and even strawberry soap.

A wonderful strawberry-picking experience

Stop by a florist shop before leaving. Just look at those Venus Fly plants. Love to have it but it costs too much... >.<

That’s the end of our trip. We had dinner at a café and it rained heavily. That blew our plan to the Butterfly Farm. We headed to Lumut, toured around the shipyards and ports, stayed overnight in a resort, and finally embarked on the journey back home the next day. Home Sweet Home here I come! ^_^
