Journey to the East

I should have updated this a few days ago but due to lots of distractions, I’d procrastinated this post until today =.=

Anyway,  on Sunday, snuggled comfortably in our family car, our family journeyed to the eastern part of Peninsular Malaysia, Terengganu.

Since we would be using the East-West Karak Highway to reach Kerteh in Terengganu, we were bound to pass through Pahang. Dad decided to have a one day tour in Bukit Tinggi while we were in Pahang.

colmar-tropicale-map Bukit Tinggi, Pahang. It’s about an hour drive from my home in Puchong.

Our first stop was Colmar Tropicale, a small town with picturesque landscapes and French-themed buildings.

P6070063 A beautiful fountain located near the entrance before entering Colmar Tropicale.

P6070069 We’re still outside, can’t resist all these amazing landscapes! XD'

Finally, approaching the clock tower

The clock tower can double as a watch tower too if real windows and stairways are built within the towers. Behind my mom and sis, there’s a bridge that accesses to an archway.

P6070081

Distracted again, we went to explore what’s under the bridge. From this angle, the bridge looks like a drawbridge, but I doubt the bridge can be really pulled up.

P6070084 What’s below the bridge? A beautiful garden and a lake filled with graceful swans.

P6070091 I rarely seen a black swan with red beak.

P6070094 Can’t resist this cute tabby cat! Looks like another typical lazy afternoon for it.

P6070096 Cinderella’s enchanted carriage, just kidding..

P6070100 - Copy We’re finally going in!

Inside the town…

P6070124Another archway to an underground tunnel? No, it leads straight to a room.

P6070126 The inside of a ballroom. Not allowed to enter so I took this picture from outside of the window. Looks deserted..

P6070127 Leaving…

P6070131

Before leaving manage to take some pictures. This is the resort’s hotel. We’re not staying here unfortunately, must continue our journey!

P6070130 Nice mural paintings

Goodbye Colmar Tropicale!

P6070213 After chasing around for some time, finally caught this one and only grey rabbit in the park.

P6070214 Looks so scared le.. feel guilty also, sorry ya rabbit…

P6070215 The grey rabbit died….Just kidding! This is another rabbit, sleeping soundly..

P6070218 There’s a donkey and house farm nearby. But didn’t spend much time there because time is running out..

At around evening we finally reached Kerteh and checked into our apartment (on the highest floor!) Then we take a stroll along the beach..

P6070220 At the beach, it’s really nice to relax here..

The following morning, dad had to work, 3 of us were not awake yet, so mom, my youngest sister, and our maid were the first to explore the resort.

P6080243The red-roofed buildings are the apartments where we lived.

P6080245

P6080253 Sandcastles fun!

P6080256

There’s a playground here, quite deserted because all the kids prefer to play at the water park!

P6080267

P6080269

Afternoon’s weather is hot so we just stayed cool in our apartment. In the evening we join in the fun.

P6080272

P6080278 A giant chess set. The pieces are movable!

P6080281

P6080283

Besides the beach, we also went to Mesra Mall built by Petronas, not like the mini-market Mesra in UTP, but a decent shopping mall with all kinds of outlets: Burger King, Pizza Hut, Popular, Al-Ikhsan, Toycity, cosmetics, electronics and more, with its own food court.

We also managed to visit a Turtle Sanctuary. Sadly, contrary to what I expect, we only get to see the turtles trapped in man-made ponds and not their natural habitats. Despite that, I know a lot of effort and hard work have been put up by the people here who runs the sanctuary to protect these turtles. So kudos to them!

Arrived home at around 8pm. KL was shrouded in mild haze, plus the weather is getting drier and warmer! Need to take good care of our body and drink more water.

One last travelling tip, never eat at food outlets beside petrol stations. Food there is extremely expensive! One chicken drumstick cost RM4! A meagre hotdog cost RM2! (Add one more buck and I can buy a whole packet of hotdog in the supermarket.)

Apart from that, it’s nice and wonderful family outing. Looks like my holiday is going to resume its typical, lazy and placid routine for now.
